You will be proud to say “My Agent is Amy!”
Accomplished, personable and passionate about her profession, Amy is the perfect person to help you realize your real estate goals.
Amy Thorpe developed a love for real estate at an early age in York, PA, where she was born and raised. When asked what shaped her early ideas about real estate, Amy discussed her family, and the long rides they would take together in the summer on Sunday afternoons: “We’d stop at Dairy Queen and then wind our way through town taking in the sights and sounds. I’d peer out the window, watching different types of houses whiz by — from the row homes in downtown York, to the farms farther out in the county, to the huge mansions sitting way up in Wyndham Hills. It was during those rides that I recognized the importance of home ownership, and I spent a lot of time thinking about the different ways in which people choose to live.”
Amy left York to attend Penn State University where she earned a B.A. in Communications, and after graduation she moved to Philadelphia, PA, before finally settling in Washington, D.C., where she began a long career in public affairs, community relations, and marketing in the telecommunications industry. In 2009, she made the bold decision to leave telecom and become a full-time graduate student. She graduated from Bowie State University in 2011 with a M.A. in English and was invited by the faculty to stay on board as a lecturer, teaching rhetoric and composition.
When her teaching position ended, Amy says she knew she couldn’t go back to the status quo. “I wanted to pursue my heart’s desire and dive in to real estate – not as a hobby, but full-throttle.”
Today, as a full-time Realtor, Amy works with her clients from start to settlement and beyond. Her clients say she is dedicated, trustworthy, and professional. She gets positive results and has a track record of successful real estate transactions and happy clients. She’s been recognized by her colleagues for sales productivity and for exhibiting superior customer service. In addition to her clients, Amy has become a trusted advisor and problem-solver for friends, family, and neighbors who have real estate-related questions.
“I’m grateful for the people who have entrusted me with the responsibility of helping them buy or sell a home because I understand the significance and magnitude of deciding where and how you want to live.”
Amy is proudly affiliated with the Mitchellville Sales Office of Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., and is not looking back.
